The Education Directorate is responsible for early childhood education and care, and school education in the ACT. The Directorate provides school education services to children and young people both directly through public schools and indirectly through regulation of non-government schools and home education.

About the Role:
The Staffing Officer component of this position will involve coordinating staffing related matters, including organising casual relief staff and contracts. The role will also require knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, Human Resource systems, policy and procedures, staffing related software such as Kronos, School Staff Expenditure Monitoring System (SSEMS) and Google Drive.
The successful candidate will work as part of a larger team and will need to work across other administrative roles as required.
The hours for this role will be 7:15am to 15:06pm.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Mandatory
- Prior to commencing in this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 will be required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to www.ors.act.gov.au
Highly Desirable
- First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
Desirable
- Experience in an administration role, Humans Resources role or similar.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Google suite.
- Proficiency in various software programs used for organisations and schooling.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for up to 12 months, with the possibility permanency. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
