Job description

Position Overview:

As a Mobility Stock, Logistics and Service Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our store. Your responsibility is to oversee all aspects of the store's stock, Logistics and Service operations. Your role is to make a significant impact on the lives of our valued customers, assisting them in maintaining their independence and mobility.

Duties:

Rostering and Schedule Management:

  • Create and maintain staff rosters, taking into account business needs, employee availability and skills and the General Retail Industry Award rostering requirements.
  • Handle employee shift changes and time-off requests in a fair and efficient manner.
  • Manage and approve staff requests for leave in line with business requirements.

Stock Control and Inventory Management:

  • Oversee the store's inventory to ensure an adequate supply of products while minimizing excess stock.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to place orders and track deliveries, ensuring timely restocking of products.
  • Conduct regular stock audits to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Monitor and analyse sales trends to optimize inventory levels and ensure products with higher demand are readily available.
  • Work with suppliers to negotiate favourable pricing and terms to maintain a healthy gross margin.
  • Review pricing strategies regularly to ensure retail prices are competitive with other stores in the mobility industry, conducting market research and competitor analysis when necessary.
  • Implement promotional pricing and discount strategies to drive sales while considering overall profitability.
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and develop action plans to clear inventory effectively, preventing potential losses.
  • Ensure that supplier invoices are marked off and any discrepancies or damage are dealt with appropriately with the supplier.
  • Ensure data integrity is maintained in the store Point Of Sale (POS) system by ensuring that stock control disciple is maintained. E.g Invoices are entered correctly, delivery discrepancies are adjusted in the system. Credits and cancellations are handled appropriately. 
  • By maintaining a healthy gross margin and offering competitive retail prices, the Mobility Store Manager contributes to the store's financial success and enhances its competitiveness within the industry.

Customer Service: 

  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and handle escalated customer inquiries or complaints.
  • Train staff on effective customer service techniques and ensure a customer-centric approach in the store.
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of and adhere to our customer service policies. These policies may cover issues such as returns, exchanges, and product warranties, ensuring consistency and fairness in dealing with customers.
  • Take a proactive approach to address the concerns promptly and professionally. Listen attentively, empathize with the customer, and work towards a satisfactory resolution, turning a negative experience into a positive one.
  • Create a welcoming and friendly environment that encourages customers to return to the store for their mobility needs. Foster strong relationships with regular customers, remembering their preferences and special requirements.

Store Operations:

  • Ensure the store is well-maintained, clean, and organized, providing a pleasant shopping experience for customers. 
  • Ensure that all equipment used by the staff are in good condition and in working order.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure environment for both customers and employees. Deal with potentially hazardous situations immediately taking into account you own personal safety. 
  • Ensure that we have spare consumables/stationery so that we do not run out. E.g Till docket rolls, A4 paper, bags, store pricing tickets, printer toner, etc.

Sales Performance:

  • Monitor sales performance and identify strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets. Keep up to date with market trends and new product lines.
  • Oversee sales targets in conjunction with the CEO.
  • Ensure that products are displayed attractively and strategically within the store. Create eye catching displays to promote stock lines.
  • Encourage staff to engage in upselling and cross-selling opportunities, recommending additional products or accessories that complement customers' purchases.
  • Ensures that promotional materials, such as flyers, posters are displayed effectively to attract customers' attention and generate interest in stock lines.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Analyse & prepare weekly & monthly reports on store performance, sales trends, inventory levels, and other relevant metrics as required.
  • Analyse data to identify opportunities for improvement, cost-saving measures, and areas of success.

Vendor and Supplier Relations:

  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and conditions.
  • Ensure timely payments to suppliers by following our invoice payment procedures and handle any issues related to product quality or delivery.

Budgeting and Financial Management:

  • Assist in creating and managing the store's budget, controlling expenses while maximizing revenue.
  • Ensure that our stock holding is commensurate with our sales volume.
  • Monitor financial performance and take proactive measures to meet budgetary goals.
  • Actively seek ways to reduce costs without compromising quality, such as negotiating better deals with suppliers or identifying more cost-effective alternatives.
  • Collaborate with internal or external auditors during financial audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Ensures that the store complies with the financial policies and procedures set out by the company. Follow best practices for financial management, maintaining accurate records and upholding financial integrity.
  • Provide a cost-benefit analysis to the company CEO to assess the financial viability and potential returns on investment when considering any potential new investment.
  • Forecast future financial performance based on historical data, market trends, and business initiatives. Accurate financial forecasting helps in making proactive decisions to achieve financial goals.

Compliance and Regulation:

  • Ensure the store complies with all relevant regulations, health and safety standards, and legal requirements.
