Type of Position
This is a full-time role based at our Melbourne campus.
Purpose of the Position
Working across our Student Services and Marketing and Recruitment units, the Student Recruitment and Admissions Officer is responsible for providing information about AIA and its courses to prospective students and education agents for the purpose of recruiting students. The role is also responsible for the conversion of prospective students to student enrolments, ensuring that the students meet the admission criteria of AIA’s courses and Australian study eligibility.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide information to prospective students and education agents about AIA, its courses and the admission/enrolment processes, providing assistance where necessary.
- Recruit students from targeted countries, including Australia, by liaising with onshore and offshore education agents.
- Develop new and maintain existing relationships with education agents both onshore and offshore.
- Provide training to education agents on AIA’s courses and course requirements including AIA’s policies where relevant.
- Manage the performance of education agents, taking necessary steps to address poor performance.
- Respond to student applications efficiently, ensuring that Offer Letters and Confirmations of Enrolment (CoEs) are issued in a timely fashion ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Follow up pending Offers and convert to enrolment, meeting conversion ratios.
- Prepare regular Student Recruitment reports (agent visits, new agent sign ups, number of students enrolled, market feedback, competitors’ activities, etc).
- Coordinate events such as information sessions, education expos, and student orientations.
- Contribute to brand-building activities such as promotional events, email campaigns, designing promotional material and social media posts.
- Provide student support/counselling services.
- Manage the AIA reception desk, greeting students, agents and other stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all key stakeholders – internally and externally.
- Contribute to the development of new processes, systems and procedures relating to Student Recruitment and admission.
Selection criteria:
Essential:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in an administration role dealing with:
- International student admissions, and
- Student administration and support services.
- Experience within a CRICOS registered Higher or Vocational Education provider and knowledge of the international student sector.
- Solid understanding of ESOS Act requirements relating to international student study within Australia.
- Bachelor’s qualification in any discipline.
- Capable of working to tight deadlines and meeting agreed performance targets.
- Excellent communication skills - in English - both written and verbal.
- Well-developed customer service focus – all enquiries, including face to face, telephone and electronic mail are to be attended to in an efficient and polite manner
- A genuine self-starter.
- Have good numeracy skills, able to work with data to support business decisions.
- Technical/System Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 tools including Word, Excel, SharePoint, MS Team, PowerPoint etc.
