Roster: 8D6R FIFO ex Perth or DIDO ex Port Hedland
Reporting to the Manager Maintenance and Commissioning, Fortescue are seeking a Shutdown Superintendent with a passion for people and leading teams to success.
Join Fortescue and be a part of our exciting new magnetite processing plant at Iron Bridge. The innovative process design ensures production is highly efficient with globally competitive operating costs for a plant of this scale and size.
You will lead and support a diverse team ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and timely shut down operations and maintenance to our equipment and ancillaries to optimise plant operational capacity. This is a position in a forward thinking and values-based organisation with a strong focus on building an inclusive team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and effective leadership of a multi-disciplined team including the coaching, mentoring and development of all
- Provide visible positive leadership by demonstrating safe behaviours at all times and displaying the Fortescue values, whilst managing the effective optimisation of the plant
- Manage expectation setting and performance reviews of team members to ensure a successful pathway is built for all
- Providing support and input into shutdown planning processes to ensure all scheduled tasks are achievable and allow for safe and efficient production
- Focus on continuous improvement strategies and implementation to ensure production improvements are delivered
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant Trade or Engineering Qualification essential
- Proven experience in a leadership role with a passion for coaching and people development
- Significant experience within Fixed Plant operations and maintenance in the mining industry
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to engage and empower large teams alongside a proven commitment to safety
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Strong understanding of efficiency drivers in a large-scale mining operation
