About the role
Reporting into the Supply Planning Manager as part of the Coles Local team. This fixed term 12-month opportunity will see you drive end to end optimisation of supply chain for the category by identifying and delivering efficiencies and cost reduction.
As a Supply & Demand Planner, you will collaborate with a large range of suppliers and managed varied SKU's. You will partner with colleagues within the Merchandise Business Units to deliver strong in-store availability.
You'll also:

• Partner with internal logistics teams to deliver supply performance KPIs and prepare contingency plans in the event of unknown supply delays
• Manage and be accountable for a growing business function with significant spend, delivering aggressive targeted reductions year on year
• Influence and work cross functionally with distribution centres, transport providers and supply chain operations to help improve service levels
• Proactively seek and identify opportunities to improve the end-to-end Meat supply chain and manage the implementation of initiatives
• Identify and present opportunities to improve the end-to-end supply chain
• Deliver the demand plan for a variety of suppliers in a way to ensure the right product, right time, and right place

About you and your skills
You will have the opportunity to develop innovative solutions to solve supply & demand network operational issues across distribution and transport. This is an exciting opportunity will see you leverage your replenishment and forecasting experience and have genuine impact in the work you will do. You will also have:

• Demonstrated experience in a supply of demand planning role, with developed planning and analytical skills
• Proven understanding of supply chain finance
• Ability to manage multiple projects, where process optimisation and cost reduction has been a focus
• Advanced problem-solving capability, with the ability to question process and come up with ideas to mitigate supply risks
• Experience in managing supply chain network models and system levers to achieve supply metrics
• An innate set of skills in negotiation, procurement, and contract management, including setting up new supply agreements
• A high proficiency for communication, catering for a variety of stakeholder levels including overseas vendors and internal stakeholders
