About the project: A 30 ML/d seawater desalination plant will be delivered at Belmont South NSW, to provide weather independent supply to the community in the lower Hunter region. Seen as one of the largest capital projects in the water sector in Hunter region, the community is expecting a sustainable outcome for the nature of a seawater desalination plant. It is also the first project in Hunter Water pursuing an IS Rating, as part of its Carbon Neutral Strategy by 2035. About the role: We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic Sustainability Coordinator to join our Belmont Desalination Plant based in our Hunter Street office in Newcastle, NSW. You will Support the implementation an industry leading project sustainability agenda by driving innovation and delivering sustainability objectives across John Holland project operations. Responsibilities of the role include: Support the implementation of the Project Sustainability Management System, including the development and implementation of the Sustainability Management Plan. Identify and manage multidisciplinary project risks related to sustainability. Assist in a cross section of development, delivery and project-based activities. Develop and track objectives and targets covering each relevant function, reporting on sustainability outcomes against objectives/targets to assure that high standards of sustainability performance are being attained. Support internal and external audits as required. Support the E&S team to implement the sustainability management system as required. To be successful in this key role, you must have: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work independently. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Self-driven and ambitious. An appetite to develop industry networks and drive innovation. Preferred, but not essential: Knowledge of, or interest in, the ISC IS Rating Scheme, or other sustainability rating tools, as a means of demonstrating and benchmarking industry performance.
