Position Overview
As a System Administrator, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our clients IT infrastructure, ensuring the optimal operation of Microsoft-based platforms, security controls, and related components. Key Accountabilities
Microsoft Platform Administration:
- Provide technical administration, upgrades, and patching for Microsoft server and cloud infrastructure, virtualization, networking, storage, and associated business applications.
- Ensure the optimal operation and function of Microsoft-based platforms and the supporting virtualization/networking/storage infrastructure.
- Support end-users in triaging, troubleshooting, and resolving operational issues.
- Assist in planning, designing, evaluating, and implementing technical solutions for various projects.
- Maintain and produce technical documentation for the technical team.
Security:
- Implement and maintain optimal operational security controls across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Ensure compliance with legislated targets and industry security standards.
- Monitor and provide compliance data related to security controls, making recommendations to improve their maturity and strength.
- Stay up to date with automated scanning recommendations, emerging threat advice, and advisories, leading the implementation of mitigations and responses.
- Collaborate with internal security/risk personnel, auditors, and third parties to address security findings and recommendations.
Support Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Role model continuous improvement processes and tools for all stakeholders.
- Continuously seek improved ways to work and drive efficiencies within the team.
Success Profile
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Relevant experience in Information Technology, delivering Microsoft-based solutions.
- Considerable practical experience in Windows administration and Windows security controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft cloud administration and associated products (M365/Exchange).
- Familiarity with Microsoft-compatible Virtualization products (VMWare).
- Expertise in Microsoft-compatible networking and storage infrastructure administration.
- Practical experience in PowerShell programming.
- High-level analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage and prioritize workloads effectively.
- Excellent written and communication skills for documentation development.
