VISITS is seeking a Systems Administrator/Specialist Technician to work full-time (42.4 hours per week) at Rowville Secondary College as part of the Department of Education's Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP).
About the Position
You will take a lead role in managing the IT infrastructure within the school, looking after both the staff and student systems.
There is a lot of variety in this role, where you will be responsible for:
- Administering and supporting the server environment, consisting of a range of Windows-based servers including File, Exchange, Domain, Web etc,
- Administering and supporting the network environment including various switches and wireless networks,
- Supporting desktop, notebook and netbook computers including managing and deploying images and troubleshooting issues,
- Many other IT tasks that need to happen to support large and small education environments.
About You
We are seeking technicians with the appropriate skills and experience. These are not entry level positions - you must have experience with servers and networks and be highly proficient at managing PC's.
You must have strong technical and problem solving skills. Of equal importance are your excellent verbal and written communication skills and your passion for customer service.
Your role is to help "teachers teach" and "students learn" by providing them with technology that works well.
A Working with Children Check card (or eligibility to obtain one) and a current driver's licence and own transport are a requirement for this position.
Experience in an educational setting will be highly regarded. Current or previous Specialist Technicians are encouraged to apply.
