About the Role

The Systems Administrator maintains, configures, and optimises the DV's hardware, software, and cloud-based systems. This includes managing and monitoring the overall IT infrastructure, ensuring its stability, security, and efficient operation. Additionally, the Systems Administrator is responsible for implementing and maintaining cloud services, ensuring seamless integration and optimised performance across various cloud platforms.

About You

  • At least one of: Computer Science or IT bachelor’s degree.
  • Experienced systems engineer, who has 5+ years of system administration experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019 & 2022 operating systems.
  • Expert-level knowledge of cloud solutions; most desirably Microsoft Azure and AWS. 
  • Experience in M365 and Exchange Online administration.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policy creation and management.
  • Experience in virtualization platforms, such as VMware.
  • Experience with automated monitoring systems and technologies, with practical knowledge of MS SCOM, SCCM, and automated patching procedures.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of networking (LAN, WAN, VLAN, Routing, Firewalls, etc. – Cisco & Meraki desirable).
  • Security and risk management experience, as well as backup, DR and BCP systems.
  • Strong technical acumen, specific to Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems in an enterprise environment, supporting at least 100+ servers across multiple sites.
  • Proficiency in VMware and Cloud management technologies.
  • History of managing and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Working knowledge of networking (LAN, WAN, VLAN, Routing, Firewalls, etc.)
  • Experience in PowerShell scripting strongly preferred.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of hyper converged solutions.
  • Articulate and clear communication skills; both written and verbal.

Key Responsibility

  • Manage and maintain the DV's IT infrastructure, including hardware, servers, networks, and associated software applications.
  • Configure and optimise cloud-based services and platforms, ensuring seamless integration and efficient operation across various cloud environments.
  • Monitor system performance and security, implementing necessary updates, patches, and configurations to ensure the stability and reliability of the infrastructure and cloud services.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues and system failures promptly, minimising downtime and optimising system performance.
  • Evaluate, recommend and deliver new technologies and tools that can enhance the performance and security of the organisation's IT infrastructure and cloud services.
  • Implement security measures and protocols to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and best practices for efficient system management and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct regular system backups and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and minimize potential data loss.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address specific infrastructure and cloud-related requirements for different departments within the organisation.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders, facilitating training sessions and workshops to promote the effective use and understanding of IT infrastructure and cloud services within the organisation.
