We are looking for an experienced recruiter or recruitment leader who is ready to build and own a new Talent Acquisition function in this medium-sized, proudly Australian IT business as it continues to evolve and grow.

Our client is one of Australia’s leading technology solutions and services partners, working with companies in the financial services, health care, government and corporate sectors, offering digital advisory, consulting and end-to-end professional and managed IT services. The business is founded on the core principles of thought leadership, service excellence and solution innovation, which has both ensured long term trusted partnerships with key clients and enabled the business to evolve over time.

The Role
In this new role, reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will engage and collaborate with hiring managers and key stakeholders across all business functions, to understand their talent needs and help them drive overall performance through a well-planned and executed recruitment process. 

Your days will be varied including the full spectrum recruitment process activities from sourcing through screening and interviews to onboarding successful candidates.

You will also be focused on building best practice and “fit for purpose” services by liaising with and truly understanding the needs of key stakeholders, developing new sourcing strategies, managing the recruitment budget, participating in industry events and staying abreast of trends in IT Talent Acquisition.

In this autonomous role, there’ll be plenty to do and plenty of opportunity to make an impact by learning about the business, understanding what it takes for candidates to be successful and developing a holistic picture of how talent fits together in this customer-focused business.  The role will combine a good balance of day-to-day Talent Acquisition work, building a quality service function and developing new project initiatives.

About you
This is a critical role for my client and they are looking for someone with solid IT industry recruitment experience, preferably in a managed services, MSP, or technology-based environment.

Ready to step into an autonomous role combining building and delivery, you will combine the strengths of an in-house and agency recruitment career bringing deep understanding of IT roles, technical skills and qualifications. You will have achieved success in previous roles by utilising diverse recruitment channels to attract and engage candidates, building strong relationships on both sides of the hiring partnership.   

We’ll be looking for you to be degree qualified in Human Resources or a related field, with:

  • Strong understanding of IT industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Well-developed interview and assessment skills to evaluate candidates effectively.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, HR software and a good level of proficiency across the Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Good understanding and experience managing budgets.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with candidates and stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand and navigate conflicting priorities, communicating and agreeing clear expectations.
  • Professional, friendly and cooperative approach combined with a pro-active attitude.
  • Unrestricted permanent working rights in Australia.
