The Talent Advisor is a hybrid senior recruiter/advisory role, with deliver, advisory and ad hoc duties. Talent Advisors will act as the onsite face of AMS . The Talent Advisor will provide strategic and advisory support to client hiring managers and local client HR teams, utilising their expertise to help them get the right hiring outcomes. They will have specialised knowledge of local recruitment practices and the client's business area. This will include recommending approaches, making considered challenges and leading constructive discussions when confronted with barriers to hiring such as talent availability or market expectations.
Talent Advisors will support client hiring managers with filling their vacancies to target start dates ensuring all quality thresholds and KPIs are met. They will deliver excellent recruitment services to the client in line with agreed service levels, acting as the custodian of candidate quality and the hiring manager experience. They will manage the end-to-end recruitment process working as a team with Sourcing and Administration colleagues, utilising relevant recruitment technology applications.
The Role
Strategic Support and Client Advisory
§ Create and maintain trusted partner relationships with hiring managers. Act as a strategic partner and advisor regarding the sourcing and recruitment process
§ Develop end-to-end recruitment campaign strategies to meet longer term client requirements
§ Develop and support the sourcing strategy in collaboration with the Sourcer for each role/business unit, including web-based and direct sourcing. Agree the strategy with the hiring manager
§ Develop and manage the talent pipeline or talent pooling strategy for business unit/local country/market
§ Provide strategic support to the wider client business as required, e.g. to drive awareness of internal mobility, referral and non-permanent hiring, diversity and inclusion, etc
§ Deliver market intelligence and insight to hiring community and HR stakeholders, including salary benchmarking, internal and external supply and demand, assessment approaches to support decision making
§ Share best practice approaches and client culture with other members of the talent team, supporting them in achieving success in their role
Other Stakeholder Relationships
§ Deliver excellent comprehensive candidate experience and managing their satisfaction with the recruitment experience from initial interview to start date
§ Collaborate effectively with the Sourcing and Administration teams to ensure a smooth client and candidate experience. Mentor them on best practice approaches and client culture, supporting them in achieving success in their roles
§ Flag continuous improvement and upselling opportunities to Client Services Manager (or Talent Business Partner), including opportunities for process improvement, service enhancement, related strategic projects and increasing the scope of the service. Support account contractual management by identifying and flagging scope creep
Network with the AMS Insights team and other internal best practice communities to share and learn best practice
Key Accountabilities
Recruitment Delivery
§ Ensure the recruitment service is delivered in line with contractual obligations and client service level agreements
§ Lead vacancy consultation discussions in partnership the Sourcer to agree recruitment plans with hiring managers and document outcomes of the intake meeting. Agree with hiring manager on role requirements, sourcing strategy, pay range, agreed timeframes, roles and responsibilities of all involved, and the selection process
§ Collaborate with Sourcing team on the iterative process of narrowing down high-quality candidate shortlists through timely feedback and review discussions. Jointly review the shortlist with the hiring manager
§ Support the hiring manager with hiring decisions and guide them in determining an appropriate offer
§ Manage the offer process and close the candidate - broker the offer with the chosen candidate, manage objections/negotiations and support the candidate during their notice period
Skills & Experience
  • Proven ability to be proactive in engaging and managing stakeholders both virtually and face to face
  • Demonstrable ability to position and solve issues for senior clients (e.g. HR Leaders, Heads of Business). Able to manage their expectations, influence them to take a course of action, change their assumptions or make compromises between quality and speed of hires
  • Demonstrable subject matter expertise and commercial acumen - understands client's business and talent strategies, and how these elements influence AMS service delivery, client's brand perception; has knowledge of competitors and local recruitment practices. Able to use market intelligence and analyse market trends to provide insights to clients
  • Experience of working to and meeting demanding targets and deadlines
  • Experience of behavioural / competency-based interviewing
  • Experience of developing and delivering end-to-end recruitment campaign strategies to meet client requirements. Experience of managing candidates through the recruitment process remotely or in-house setting (e.g. including experience running open days or assessment centres if volume role)
  • Expertise in various candidate sourcing strategies (e.g. web sourcing, networking, advertising and database searching)
