The Gap State High School has been proudly educating students within the north western suburbs since it first opened in 1960. The school has grown steadily over this time and the facilities have been steadily extended and upgraded on the current site. It is located within approximately a 15 minute drive from the Brisbane CBD and enjoys good access to public transport.

About the Role:
As a Teacher Aide you will contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
* Provide in-class support for students with complex specialised learning & behavioural needs as directed by the classroom teacher.
* Support students in reading activities and other literacy and numeracy duties.
* Assist teachers and students with sporting activities and school excursions.
* Communicate effectively and demonstrate high levels of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
* Show respect, empathy, confidentiality, tact, reliability, and sensitivity to students and their families.
* Provide clerical assistance including typing, duplicating teaching materials, and organising off-site activities.
