The Technical Sales Executive (TSE) is responsible for promoting and selling Inductive Automation’s software products. They work to identify new opportunities, grow customer accounts, assess the needs of customers and provide technical demonstrations of our Ignition platform and ecosystem of solutions. The TSE will often collaborate with the Sales Engineering team on architecture, security and best practice calls in an effort to provide the best solutions to our customers.

About you
We are seeking a passionate and results-driven individual with a strong technical background and exceptional interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a deep understanding of industrial automation technologies, and have a proven track record in Technical Sales.
Core duties and responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
- Attainment of monthly and yearly sales quotas for making cold calls and web demos
- Maintaining licenses and support plans
- Following up on all new incoming leads within the allotted period
- Educating current and prospective customers on software products
- Leading face-to-face meetings, conducting presentations and demonstrations in front of large groups
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plans
- Identifying new opportunities through cold calls, follow up calls, new lead calls, survey calls, and demo request calls
- Scheduling and providing knowledgeable demonstrations of our software, online or in person
- Managing and growing existing customer accounts
- Successfully managing incoming sales inquiries to a “close”
- Creating accurate sales proposals, quotes, and reports
- Keeping accurate records in our sales tracking systems of all interactions with customers and accounts
- Gaining a good technical understanding of our industry verticals, software products and other offerings
- Staying up-to-date and knowledgeable on new technologies and product offerings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or Business, Marketing, or Sales related qualification with technical experience
- Possesses a minimum of 3 years of experience in B2B sales, ideally within the industrial automation or related industries.
- Has a strong understanding of industrial automation concepts and technologies
- Expert in sales techniques with proven ability to negotiate and close deals
- Excellent ability to understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions
- Must be able to demonstrate proven track record in providing solutions to customers
- Must be able to show the ability to build a book of business
- Skilled in virtual presentations, online web demos and remote sales processes
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- High level of problem-solving skills and perseverance
- Ability to take the initiative individually, while also being capable of participating in group efforts
