A bit about the role
Traffic Engineer will contribute broadly to the objectives of Transport Operations team to deliver a high-quality service to the community and meet corporate customer service indicators.
You will provide advice and support to the Manager, Team Leader and Staff on engineering issues within areas of responsibility, as required.
Contribute to the achievement of the corporate policies, strategies, service levels, standards, and the pursuit of corporate goals for the Division.
What you’ll deliver
- Undertake Traffic Engineering investigations and report on outcomes and recommended action.
- Provide expedient, accurate and appropriate responses to Council resolutions and public enquiries concerning traffic and parking issues.
- Coordinate and prepare draft Committee and Council reports, with appropriate recommendations.
- Reply to routine correspondence and communications from the general public, organisations and government bodies.
- Project management and supervision of consultants and contractors in undertaking services and/or works.
- Keep up to date with Engineering Standards, Practices, Codes, Regulations and Acts..
- Contribute to an integrated approach to all sections within the Division.
What you’ll bring
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering or relevant equivalent qualification.
- Current Australian Drivers licence
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check & Eligibility to Work check.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
- Written and oral communication skills suitable for interacting directly with individual members of the community.
