The Role
Venita are currently recruiting for a Transport Coordinator to provide effective and efficient delivery of transport operation within an allocated geographical and client base.
The role will also provide operational management capability to drive the development, implementation and continual improvement of the Ventia integrated management system to meet legal, contractual and other business requirements.
This is a permanent, fulltime position based at Port Wakefield.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to
- Plan day to day operational transport activities as contractually required
- Drive (Non lights and sirens) range ambulance when required
- Work with JPEU Vehicle sustainment Manager to provide vehicle availability reports to the management of the ranges
- Operate and manage Ventia’s fleet vehicles, designated Defence fleet vehicles and hired vehicles.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance activities and ensure that fleet authorisation are issued, completed, and checked as required
- Ensure that all fleets and equipment are serviced and maintained regularly IAW current servicing schedules including Complete Equipment Schedule (CES) and special fleet task stores
- Review and ensure operators and vehicles usage data are entered and recorded into the most appropriate defence systems data base
- Assist with vehicle sustainment manager with licence keeping and permit recording activities
- Coordinate for fleet vehicle the reporting of accidents and incidents including investigation
- Deliver and collect Fleet Vehicles (including to and from the repair facility).
Skills and Experience
- Heavy Rigid Licence or Heavy Combination Licence, F class (site specific)
- Qualified and able to undertake driving tasks in compliance with Commonwealth, State/Territory and Local Legislation, Australian Standards and Defence Policy
- Knowledge of or the ability to gain knowledge of the Electronic Defence Security Manual where required
- Drivers licence applicable to vehicles on site (Car / Light / F Class – Medium & Heavy rigid truck) with a minimum of 3 years Driving experience
- Experience in a similar position preferred
- The incumbent to this role must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1. As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen.
