You will work as part of a team to provide high quality patient care. Other aspects of your role will include:
- patient assessment, co-ordination and management in consultation with the treating consultant
- appropriate communication with other health professionals including nursing and allied health staff
- appropriate and clear communication and/or handover of patients under your care
- provide leadership in the multidisciplinary setting

- teaching and supervision of residents, interns and medical students
About Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
The Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Western Health is staffed by 9 plastic surgeons, 5 registrars (2 accredited, 3 non-accredited) and supported by a team of residents and interns. Areas of clinical exposure will include general plastic and reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, skin cancer surgery, trauma surgery, head and neck surgery, microsurgery and breast reconstructive surgery.
Outpatient clinics are held for adult and paediatric Plastic Surgery with consultant plastic surgeons, as well as dressings clinics led by registrars. Clinics occur at Sunshine and Joan Kirner Hospitals. Surgery is mostly undertaken at Sunshine Hospital but may be performed at all campuses as required.
To be Successful in this Role you will:
Hold or be eligible for medical registration with AHPRA
Have completed a minimum of 3 years full time medical employment post internship (e.g. PGY3+)
Have completed at least 12 months of surgical experience/training (e.g. a surgical HMO year).
