ABOUT THE ROLE

The Mt Magnet operations team are seeking an Underground Manager for a permanent opportunity working on a 4 days on, 3 days off roster. A rotational 8 days on, 6 days off will be required to provide Senior Site Executive coverage which is shared amongst the Site Leadership group.

Reporting to the General Manager - Mt Magnet, this role will:

• Lead the Underground mining team including Alternate Underground Managers, Engineering and Survey teams to deliver profitable, safe operations across multiple underground environments.
• Ensure the Underground mining team are focussed on safe production and achieving the operational strategy whilst ensuring accountability for costs.
• Ensure compliance with all legislative and statutory requirements, as well as internal management standards.
• Work collaboratively with the Geology and Processing teams to ensure maximum value and recovery is always prioritised.
• Ensure collaborative working relationship is maintained with the underground Mining Contractor.
• Lead continuous improvement within the underground operations and set high standards of technical and practical mining expertise within the team.
• Oversee the underground contractor performance, in conjunction with the Underground Mine Foreman to work together on achieving outcomes for both contractor and the underground team.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, we would like to see;

• A positive and professional approach with a genuine commitment to achieving safety, production and cost deliverables .
• Bachelor Mining Engineering (Mandatory)
• First Class Mine Manager Certificate of Competency (Mandatory)
• Previous experience and established at this level with experience leading large teams and overseeing complex underground mining environments.
• Ambition and personal motivation to develop the extensive skills and competency required to progress into a General Manager level role in the future, under the guidance of an experienced and knowledgeable leader.
• Significant commercial acumen and skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and overseeing contractor performance against contractual obligations and ensuring claims are correct and aligned to actual performance.
• A West Australian C class driver's license (manual) and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance purposes.
