Visitor Services Officer, Rockhampton Museum of Art

Hourly rate of $44.83 (LGIA Stream B Major Venues Level 4 + 30% SWA 4B) + Superannuation

Your new role
This exciting new opportunity will see you as the first point of contact at the Rockhampton Museum of Art and extends our welcome in an engaging, professional, efficient and confident manner to ensure an exceptional experience for all our visitors.
Working within the Development & Visitor Services Team, you will deliver front of house and administrative duties including processing tickets for events and programming (including bump in/bump out of events and programs), memberships and retail sales, managing phone calls, bookings, daily reconciliations and banking as well as support visitors’ exploration of the gallery through conversations.
The successful applicant must be available to work on an on-call basis and on weekends and be available for Events that are after hours.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
A positive attitude with previous experience in customer service preferably in retail, box office, reception or front of house position.
Strong administration skills with a high level of attention to detail, analytical thinking and ability to problem solve.
A highly organised individual with a passion for Arts.
Confident and accurate cash handling skills with the ability to process EFTPOS transactions.
Confident communicator who enjoys developing relationships and the ability problem solve.
Ambition to ensure that all outcomes and targets are met with optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
Substantial experience in customer service and administration
Responsible Service of Alcohol (or ability to obtain)
Must hold a Blue Card for working with Children and Young People (or ability to obtain)
Must hold a first aid certificate

Substantial experience in administration, customer services and/or call centre and an interest/ passion for the Arts.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve conflict/complex problems while focusing on quality customer service.
Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills, and maintain a high level of accuracy whilst working in a fast-paced environment.
