ADCO Holdings Pty Ltd t/a The Job Shop, is an Approved Employer under The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme. We place between 500-700 Seasonal Workers from Timor-Leste and the Pacific Islands (Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Fiji & Samoa) across Australia each year to assist businesses within horticulture, hospitality and various other sectors.
We are seeking 2 casual Welfare Support Officers to assist groups located in The Top End for 9 months of the year.

The Welfare Officers will need to be willing to provide an emergency 24/7 contact number, and be flexible with this work arrangement. The work hours will need to suit the groups varying work schedules - this will include some late afternoon/evening and weekend meetings. The minimum amount of hours anticipated for the role will be 10 - 20 per week.
The Role:
Assist with development and delivery of the pastoral care plan for workers by ensuring basic requirements such as the accommodation and appropriate day to day living conditions are maintained, transportation is available and ability to attend church, and other social activities are available
Conduct at least fortnightly meetings face-to-face with Workers to check their progress and enable them to raise any concerns
Keep records of all meetings and any Grievances raised, and actions taken to resolve matters
Provide training to each Worker regarding the information on their pay slips, including information related to any deductions
Maintain clear and direct communication to keep ADCO Holdings management up to date on all matters
Assist Workers to promptly access medical and allied health services when needed and/or requested by the Worker
Act as an advocate within the community for the workers and the PALM Scheme
Assist with handling any Fleet Management matters ie. ensure regular servicing and checks are conducted on vehicles
Provide a weekly report of activities undertaken in the role to include crucial detail on Workers' Welfare & Wellbeing.
About You
The successful candidate will be fair minded, understanding there is more than one side to any story, be proactive and have excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate, negotiate and resolve conflict is an essential part of the role.
The following skills are required:
Background working in a people focused role, such as Teaching or Community Services
Be able to come up with solutions raised amongst both teams and individuals
Have a mature perspective and approach
Be able to build strong connections and relationships with people
Be computer literate
The role requires driving to visit the employees in their accommodation or at their workplace. A valid Northern Territory Drivers License and your own vehicle are essential.
