Qualifications & experience
- Tertiary qualification in Safety Management.
- Workplace Training and Assessment Qualification.
- Risk Management Training - preferred
- Return to Work Coordinator Training - preferred
- Broad operational knowledge and experience in the functions of the organisation (Civil Construction, Crane Operations, and mining industry)
- Sound knowledge of safety management principles and practices along with proven analytical skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, general knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs would be desirable.
- Ability to relate to Employees, Management and Client alike to maintain positive relations and open communication.
- Positive leadership skills with confidence to assert authority when required.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Promote an organisational culture that supports safe workplace behaviour through effective leadership.
- Demonstrate safety behaviour by continually developing safe work practices and responding to non-compliance and positive workplace behaviour.
- Inform management of safety requirements and issues, deliver safety information to workers, contractors and clients.
- Provide workplace training and assessment in workplace safety and plant operations.
- Maintain Company Safe Management Systems and Procedures. Evaluate, assess and alter safety procedures and policies for the benefit of employees and clients
- Monitor overall performance by completing workplace inspections and audits with creation of reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Analyse technical data and incident analysis information to determine trends.
- Promote and influence continual improvement in the Company safety performance. Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards.
- Lead injury and incident inquiries and evaluations and manage Company return to work programs for employees.
