WHS & Quality CoordinatorLeading Illawarra heavy industrial engineering & fabrication company servicing the Mining, Steel, Manufacturing & Infrastructure sectors, are seeking an experienced WHS & Quality Coordinator to join their leadership team. The company mainly consists of engineering trades & apprentices (Boilermakers & Fitters) as well as the support staff needed to run one of the region’s leading industrial engineering & fabrication specialists.
The Role
As a WHS and Quality Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of workplace health, safety, and quality standards. Your attention to detail and strong communication skills will be essential in promoting a safe and efficient work environment. Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide hands on Safety & Quality systems support to the Operations Managers and their teams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, develop and update quality documentation, including procedures, policies, work instructions, and forms to comply with ISO Standards (i.e. ISO 9001).
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to companies’ quality management systems.
- Coordinate and organize safety training programs for employees.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend preventive measures and corrective actions / SWMS reporting.
- Monitor quality inspection and testing activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality awareness throughout the organisation.
- Qualification in Workplace Health & Safety and/or Quality Assurance / Control (minimum Cert IV) with demonstrated experience in applying this knowledge in an industrial environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Work Health & Safety Act, Workers Compensation & Rehabilitation Act and associated Acts, Regulations, Standards and Codes of Practice.
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO9001 Quality standards and their application.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desired).
- Qualified “Return to Work” Coordinator.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
