The Role
Reporting to the WHS Coordinator, the WHS Officerproactively promotes and influences the safety culture across the organisationwhilst undertaking the day-to-day operational aspects of Councils' WHS andInjury Management system.
The WHS Officer is also responsible for training,assisting and auditing to ensure that all WHS requirements are implemented andmaintained in accordance with NSW Work Health and Safety legislation.
About You
You will have excellent communication skills andare passionate about working collaboratively to deliver and maintain safetystandards in line with legislation and Australian standards. You will havedemonstrated Workplace Health and Safety experience, ideally across multipleindustries including construction. You will have experience developing anddelivering WHS training packages and experience in the development of healthand wellbeing programs to support organisational needs.
Essential Criteria
- Certificate IV WHS or equivalentqualification
- Extensive working knowledge of WHSLegislation and associated Codes of Practice, Australian Standards.
- Extensive experience in a blue collar environment completing WHSroutine workplace inspections, accident / incident investigation and complianceauditing
- Experience in the writing andreview of WHS documentation in relation to both system and contract works
- Ability to prepare riskassessment reports across a range of disciplines
- Availability to vary start/ finish times across multiple locations in line with operational requirements, with 2 days working from Council's depot in Wilberforce from 6:30am. (Core hours of work will fall between 6.30am - 5.00pm / Monday - Friday.)
