The Libraries Arts and Events Branch is seeking a dynamic and experienced Arts Engagement Lead to join our Arts and Cultural Services Unit.
We’re a collaborative and creative team looking for someone who is passionate and experienced in community arts and engagement. You will be a team player who builds strong working relationships with stakeholder groups, has excellent time management and an ability to work flexibly and collaboratively. In return you will have the opportunity to work on a range of dynamic projects across our diverse and creative community.
This position plays a key role in supporting community led and Council aligned arts projects and programs throughout the municipality. The role:
- provides expert advice, guidance and referral to communities and organisations wishing to deliver Arts Engagement activities
- develops projects and programs using an all of Council approach to engaging community
- initiates and develops partnerships between art makers, community, organisations, businesses, other levels of government and Council to provide opportunity for Arts Engagement
The Arts Engagement Lead has an equity and inclusion focus, contributing to the delivery of programs and projects aligned with Council strategies, policies and plans including Arts and Culture Strategy 2022-2026, Council Plan, Yana Ngargna Plan.
The role works closely with housing estate communities and neighbourhood houses. It plays a role in connecting these groups in a creative context with external communities, specialists and appropriate Council contacts.
