Form of workHi, we are 2 young males with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Level 3 and one of us is non-verbal. We reside in the Gold Coast. We are supported by our Youth Workers at all times who help us with our daily living and transportation to school and appointments. We have 2 workers at all times to support us both with our daily routines and one Youth Worker does a sleepover shift.
We require a lot of prompting with consistent messaging so we are able to understand requests and follow instructions. To give you an example, we will require assistance with hygiene routine, showering, toileting, cleaning up after ourselves and eating at the table together. We require to be monitored at all times, in our home and in the community.
We are looking for committed Youth Workers to join our team and help make a positive impact and give us a good quality of life. Due to our high complex needs, you must have a high level of resilience, be patient and understanding. Most of all, we need someone who can assist with our aggressive behaviours, emotional regulation and meeting my complex attachment needs whilst providing a nurturing environment.
We enjoy going to the local park, regularly and enjoy going for night drive to help settle into our evening routine. When traveling in the car, we are required to sit in the back seat and need regular verbal communication to keep us stimulated.

This role will be situated on the Gold Coast, supporting young people with highly complex behaviours and care needs along with other Child Safety young people where required.
Candidates are required to be flexible with their availability, with shifts from 6am, sleepover shifts commencing from 2pm and short shifts of around 4 hours.
Key requirements:
- Passion and demonstrated experience in supporting people to live the lives they choose.
- Experience with complex and challenging behaviours is mandatory.
- Willingness to perform persona care.
- Ability to perform a wide range of personal care services and assist with the implementation of care plan with limited supervision.
- Ability to exercise limited judgment and initiative within established policies and procedures in resolving complex behavioural and care situations.
- Good computer skills in order to use online systems.
- Capacity to meet physical requirements of the job.
- Current drivers license and own reliable registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Current QLD Blue and Yellow Card/NDIS worker Screen
- Current First aid and CPR Certificates
- Certificate III in Youth Work or equivalent/higher qualifications
