In this role, you'll:
provide a broad range of high-quality business and administrative services to support the planning, operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Aboriginal Engagement Section, including the oversight of budgets and data, the accuracy and completeness of regular and ad hoc reporting and business performance improvements.
The Aboriginal Engagement Officer will be responsible for:
- Managing the analysis and consolidation of regular and ad hoc reports on key performance indicators and other critical success factors for Aboriginal Engagement delivery and benchmark the performance of internal business units to identify opportunities to improve services and productivity.
- Supporting program/project delivery to align with Closing the Gap Outcomes and monitoring and evaluating all aspects of project implementation, including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, project impact and quality measures to identify and address issues, assess project progress and effectiveness to achieve project outcomes.
- Leading the development and implementation of the team’s business management systems by coordinating the development and review of business processes, undertaking business analysis and re- engineering, and managing the implementation of business improvement initiatives.
- Providing early warning advice on emerging project issues and recommend intervention and planning to support project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other projects and priorities to support the team’s service delivery.
- Ensuring quality documentation by developing business systems, documenting the operating procedures and program guidelines.
- Ensuring effective and efficient provision of communication, briefings and stakeholder coordination service delivery by developing and maintaining the team’s performance measurement framework, including development tools and reporting mechanisms and co-ordination of regular reporting.
This is an Aboriginal-identified role and involves the development and delivery of services and programs which impact or require liaison with Aboriginal people and/or communities. About you
- You are an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
- You have demonstrated experience with performance and budget reporting, risk management and improvement plans.
- You have demonstrated high level engagement, analysis, business improvement and project management skills.
- You work collaboratively and use your excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to proactively build strong relationships with an array of internal and external stakeholders.
- You think creatively to solve problems and find solutions. You’re proactive and use your initiative and prioritisation skills to get things done.
- You have experience working under pressure to tight deadlines and have a successful track record in delivering great customer experience outcomes.
- You are willing to work outside normal working hours and travel on occasion.
