The opportunity:
The primary objective of the Account Manager is to have overall responsibility for leading their teams to produce product ranges of optimal standard in the market place by look, brand and quality. Acting as the subject matter expert in your team and will support them to grow and develop the Business. Reporting into the Business Manager, this role will work on the strategic direction of the designated accounts to achieve sales and profit budgets while supporting the growth of Designworks.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong and sustainable relationships with retail partners to ensure financial success as well as drive new business opportunities
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings and communications with retail partners to ensure deadlines and sales targets are meet.
  • Analyse sales data and relevant market trends
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop sales plans to meet budgeted requirements
  • Conduct regular reviews and meetings to support the wider team to ensure that retailer requests translate to the desired product outcomes
  • Oversee the design development process ensuring alignment with the product strategy and trend direction.
  • Oversee the development of ranges that deliver successful results for the retailer
  • Oversee and review the product development system to ensure that it is always meeting
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including potential retail partners, distribution channels, and geographic markets.
  • Develop comprehensive business plans and go-to-market strategies to support new business initiatives and expansion efforts.
  • Lead the execution of market entry strategies, including prospecting, relationship building, and contract negotiations.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth, increase market share, and achieve sales targets within the retail wholesale channel.
  • Analyse sales performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and leverage data-driven insights to optimize sales effectiveness and profitability.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the wholesale sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with product development , marketing and sales teams to align business development efforts with overall company goals.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and objectives.

  • Expert understanding of product development and design as well as graphic design
  • Sourcing and Costing expertise
  • Brand and Licensed Product Management
  • Proven ability to build Customer relationships and influence sales outcomes
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and wholesale management software.
