The Opportunity:
Gwinganna is now seeking to appoint a professional and motivated Accountant to join our friendly and supportive Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for a diverse range of management accounting activities including the management of our fortnightly payroll.
The Responsibilities:
- Assist the Finance Manager to prepare the weekly and monthly management reports
- Manage the fortnightly payroll using our time and attendance system TANDA, and accurately maintain all employee records and data
- Assist in preparation of contractor and employment contracts
- Reconcile PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax as per legislative requirements
- Provide assistance with accounts payable processing
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset register, prepayments and other schedules
- Prepare stock entries and assist with stocktakes
- Assist with the preparation of month end journal entries
- Identify and assist with implementing process improvements
- Provide adhoc reports and assist with projects as required
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have at least 3 years previous experience in a similar role, or you are ready to take a great first step out of a public practice role. Other specific requirements include:
- A degree in Accounting discipline
- Studying towards or completed CPA or CA
- Proficiency in MYOB and EXCEL and other MS Office programs at an intermediate level
- A high level of attention to detail combined with excellent time management skills
- A commitment to quality and compliance in reporting and all accounting processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and to take a proactive approach to all tasks
