As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled Accounts and Purchasing Officer to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success of both established business and new ventures.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting across a business with multiple products and income streams, along with proficiency in Xero accounting software. This role will also be responsible for managing our purchasing of products/components both in Australia and overseas and maintaining stock levels. Products include building materials, electrical/telecommunications components, PPE and more.
Purchasing Responsibilities:
- Oversee the purchasing process, including vendor selection, negotiation, and procurement of goods and services in Australia and overseas.
- Manage and maintain supplier/manufacturer relationships.
- Receive and check purchase requests against inventory records and stock on hand.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Source the best products for the best price.
- Maintain records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.
Accounts Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as well as invoicing customers across 4 businesses.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Provide support during audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Utilise Xero accounting software to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant/ Bookkeeper, Finance, or related field.
- Experience in purchasing and accounting roles.
- Proven experience with accounting across a business with multiple products and income streams.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software is required.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with Gsuite products ( gmail, google docs).
