Muru Mittigar means 'Pathway to Friends' in the Dharug language.We were founded in the late nineties as a not for profit Aboriginal Social Enterprise with the purpose to;
- create a better understanding of the Dharug Aboriginal culture in the wider community;
- create new jobs;
- develop workplace skills training and
- increase sustained employment opportunities for Indigenous Australians.
We achieves this by providing quality contracting and consulting services to Government and business, in Land Management, Education and Tourism and through investing in the well-being and financial counselling services for the Aboriginal and the wider community.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and professional Administration Clerk/Receptionist to join our team in Penrith, New South Wales. As the first point of contact for our company, you will be responsible for managing the front desk, answering phone calls, greeting visitors and providing administrative support to our staff. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Provide administrative support to various departments within the organisation
- Answer and direct phone calls and emails
- Maintain and update files and records
- Schedule appointments and meetings
- Prepare and distribute correspondence, memos, and reports
- Assist with data entry and data management
- Perform general office duties such as photocopying, faxing, and filing
- Assist with special projects as needed
Skills & experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an administrative role
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
- Professional demeanour with strong customer service skills
- Strong Attention to detail
- Sound understanding of Cost and Project Management
- Exceptional organisation/administration skills and proven high levels of attention to detail
- Understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal history, traditions, and practices
- Ability to lead and influence others
- Proven ability to achieve targets/performance indicators
- Ability and preferably experience in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
- Ability to build strong internal and external partnering relationships, including with clients, and the ability to influence others
- High level of skill in MS-Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High levels of personal accountability and responsibility
- Sound problem solving and high-level decision-making skills
- A current and valid Working with Children’s Check
- Current drivers’ licence
