The opportunity
The preferred candidate will be responsible for administration support across all Li-S Energy's facilities.
The role, based at the Waurn Ponds campus of Deakin University, will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for:
- Acting as the main point of contact for office enquiries, directing them to appropriate team members and providing general support for the wider team.
- Proactively tracking and managing inventory of materials, chemicals, and equipment to ensure sufficient stock is available to support research and production needs.
- Collaborating with the Accounts team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and purchase orders.
- Managing supplier relationships, proactively identifying opportunities to source competitive rates and collaborating with the Operations Manager to establish new accounts and finalise negotiations.
- Scheduling and coordinating meetings, booking rooms and resources as needed.
- Assisting with grant applications, compiling necessary documentation and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Providing administrative support for research projects, including tracking progress, and maintaining project records.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to streamline administrative processes, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
- Collaborating effectively with a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and production specialists.
The successful candidate will have:
- A combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated experience in an administrative or office support role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with excellent Excel skills.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Experience using Monday.com or similar project management software.
- Procurement or inventory management experience is highly desirable.
