About the department
Austin Health Clinical Genetics Service coordinates and delivers clinical genetics services at Austin Health, Eastern Health and Northern Health. In addition, the service delivers Familial Cancer clinics at Albury/Wodonga, Ballarat and Shepparton.
About the role
A regular day will see you:
Supervise the day-to-day activities of a small group of administrative staff, and liaise with immediate supervisor to seek and provide information
Liaise with other staff in the department to ensure streamlining of processes
Provide reception duties including managing face-to-face, phone and email communication with patients, including discretion and confidentiality on sensitive matters
Facilitate administrative functions for genetics clinics including, processing new patient referrals, booking patient appointments, pre and post clinic data entry and processing
Medicare billing where required
Prepare and print patient and referring doctor correspondence within department KPIs
Completion of contract preparation and invoice management as required
Provide secretarial & administrative support to the department which includes; filing, copying, faxing and scanning within departmental KPI’s
Maintain an efficient operational electronic filing system
About you
To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:
High level of experience in computing skills in word processing, spreadsheet and
presentation packages
An ability to manage incoming work with competing priorities, meet deadlines, and
advanced attention to detail and accuracy in all activities
Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage change.
Able to work effectively in a team environment
