About the role
The role is pivotal in elevating AEMO's brand and reputation through strategic media and Social Media engagement. As the lead in Social Media communications, responsibilities include content creation, account management, and budget oversight.
As a member of the Communications team, you will manage proactive and reactive media engagement, liaising with journalists and managing media enquiries. This includes participating as part of the emergency response team as required and supporting the executive team and CEO.
This dynamic position demands agility, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to handle concurrent issues while maintaining high output levels.
What you will be doing
- Efficient handling of media inquiries to ensure timely responses.
- Actively seek coverage of key initiatives via media releases and direct/strategic engagement of journalists.
- Drive the AEMO Social Media strategy, creating and leveraging content to enhance reach across various channels.
- Provide communications and media support to the Executive Leadership Team.
- Engage in emergency response teams, serving as a liaison with media and industry during operational emergencies for effective communication.
What you will bring to the role
- Exhibit strong writing, editing, and communication skills, adept at tailoring content for diverse purposes, channels, and audiences.
- Demonstrate the capacity to simplify complex or technical information effectively.
- Understanding of the energy market (preferable).
- Display well-developed interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, exercising sound professional judgment.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in Social Media tools and processes.
