Application Services is responsible for providing the ongoing Business as Usual management and support activities associated with applications, platforms and technologies managed by MQ IT.
The Applications Specialist will be responsible for:
- Software development for upgrading and improving existing software solutions as well as building new ones.
- Provide technical application development and support for on-site and Software as a Service applications
- Create and maintain Operational support documentation
- Analyse and support of upgrades to bring the application to formally supported version.
- Resolve support issues for applications to meet business SLAs.
- Document requirements and solutions to support issues contributing to support knowledge management.
- Document and technical specifications and operational support documents for enhancements to systems.
- Production of reports to enhance operational performance.
About You
You are an experienced IT professional, having been a subject matter expert in a relevant business domain, application platform or technology stack. You will have knowledge of IT service management concepts and experience with their applications in an enterprise work environment supporting both cloud and hybrid on-premises application configurations. You will be an effective communicator, with good verbal and written skills with clients and other Business stakeholder.
Technical skills required:
- 5+ years of software development experience with a track record of delivering software with high business impact (Mandatory)
- Must have strong skills in C# .NET, Javascript and RDMS/SQL (Mandatory)
- PHP and Moodle experience (desirable)
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure (desirable)
- Experience with Identity and access management tool such Okta or similar (desirable)

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in software development, applications support functions, processes and procedures, particularly in relation into their application support requirements.
- Developing
- Experience managing and leading high-performance teams consisting of technology professionals responsible for Level 2 and Level 3 technical support.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following application development and support capabilities including requirements analysis, design, build and configuration, test, change management and training, release management, monitoring, tuning, and maintenance.
- Web Hosting experience
- Experience in incident response, resolution and post incident analysis of major incidents.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to analyse and interpret requirements and information from numerous sources.
- Proven experience in documenting operational support procedures.
