Aps6 Governance Officer

6-month contract with possibility of extension | Canberra Location | $62.89 - $69.15 per hour plus 11% superannuation

OVERVIEW

Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Governance Officer to join their team at the APS6 level. Within this role you will work under broad direction to provide policy, analysis and secretariat services.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in preparation of papers for board meetings.
• Preparing briefings, papers, and reports for use by senior management and internal committees.
• Provide secretariat support.
• Providing advice on relevant policies and procedures.
• Providing assistance across the agency to coordinate and deliver on the departments’ governance obligations.

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

• Strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to contribute to complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Written communication skills across a range of products, including policy briefs, question time briefs, ministerial correspondence, and reports.
• Verbal communication skills, including liaison and negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Stakeholder engagement skills and an ability to collaborate to achieve outcomes.
• Organisational skills, self-motivation, and ability to be flexible and agile in a fluid work environment.
• Familiarity working in a project environment or in a Secretariat role would be an advantage.
