The opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for an APS6 Project Officer to join their Service Design branch.
12-month initial Labour Hire contracts with the opportunity to extend.
This a APS6 level position paying $60.26 hourly + Superannuation.
To be based out of Geelong, this is a hybrid position offering 2 days working from home, with the remaining 3 on site. 37.5-hour work weeks.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and managing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
- Providing specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
- Performing independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities.
- Coordinating regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
- Preparing draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
- Monitoring project budgets, review and report on expenditure and assist with procurement and contract management.
- Identifying and assisting with the management of project risks, issues and benefits.
- Contributing to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
About you
- Australian citizenship is a requirement to be eligible for this position
- Preference is for the candidate to have a service design background this could be in fields of digital, business process or design of customer service/ experience
- Researching and identifying insights contributing to Agency understanding of information.
- Co-creating and documenting current state service through design and research, to identify current participant and staff experience and business processes.
- Co-creating and co-facilitating process design improvements.
- Advocating for the voice and experience of participants and stakeholders through work processes.
- Co-facilitating design-thinking sessions with service users to design and test future service processes, channel and experiences.
- Applying in-depth knowledge of the role and functions of the agency and the related impacts across work areas.
- Overseeing end-to-end service experiences in line with the Digital Service Standard, ensuring changes are based on participant and staff need and are consistent for all users across different touchpoints.
- Contributing to the evaluation of proposed solutions and design at both a conceptual and tactical level.
- Assisting management with the use of system tools and other duties as required.
