We are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant who will report directly to the General Manager Finance.
The successful candidate will preferably have prior experience in Transport & Warehousing , being responsible for a wide range of duties to support the Financial and Management Accountants, Preparation and processing of month-end reporting up to the trial balance stage.
Position Objectives and Responsibilities
- Processing of accruals, prepayments and subsequent journals.
- Overseeing or assisting with the Fixed Assets Register.
- Reconciliations including General Ledger and Balance Sheet.
- Managing inter-branch transactions.
- Preparation of FBT, GST and BAS return for the Manager to review before submission.
- Assisting with the preparation of budgeting and forecasting reports.
- Involvement in the overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts. Receivable may be required.
- Other ad hoc accounting duties to support the broader team
What's Required
- Ability to work within strict deadlines and reporting timetables.
- Prioritisation and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Some knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
- Able to show initiative ,be a self-starter & assist in automation.
- Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel (vlook ups and pivot tables) and accounting packages. Working knowledge of Power BI will be added advantage.
- Business Degree, with a major in Finance or Accounting.
- Studying toward CPA / CA.
- Working knowledge of TMS/ WMS ERP will be added advantage [ Ramco , Translogix , SAP, Netsuite, etc].
Education & Qualification
- Formal qualifications not necessary, but will be considered favourably.
