Assistant Accountant

We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Accountant to join our Head Office team in Byron and support our finance department on a full-time basis. The position would suit an accounting graduate or experienced bookkeeper familiar working with larger organisations.

You will be responsible for managing our Accounts Receivable and Payable functions and assisting with all other accounting functions. You will work alongside our Financial Accountant who will mentor you and develop your skills. You will also collaborate with the sales, retail and operations departments ensuring efficiency in processes and procedures.

You will have:

• A proactive, can do, collaborative attitude with problem solving coming naturally

• A Bachelor in Accounting or similar

• High level of attention to detail

• Outstanding organisational and time management skills

• Excellent communication skills

• An ability to build and maintain relationships

The role will involve:

• Building ongoing relationships with wholesale partners & retail stores

• Liaising with clients on outstanding debts

• Managing accounts payable and receivable

• Ad hoc administration tasks

• Using your proactivity to identify opportunities for process improvement

• Supporting our Sales Manager with engaging our wholesale accounts

• Assisting with end of month reconciliations and month-end closing procedures

• Working on end of month processes and higher-level accounting tasks when required
