AddressThis is an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Accountant to partner with the Finance Manager and the Executive Team to make a lasting impact on finance and operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and attention to detail. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will be responsible for the ongoing transactional accounting with the following responsibilities;
- Support the Finance Manager and wider team during day-to-day matters.
- Provide coverage for management accountant and finance manager during periods of leave.
- Manage the end of month process including reconciliations and closing.
- Calculate and process accruals for promotions and wages.
- Calculate and lodge BAS & IAS.
- Work with Management Accountant & Finance Manager to produce results including the P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Ensuring that deadlines are met.
- Manage ATO requirements such as PAYG and manage payments schedule.
- Prepare and submit FBT.
- Prepare and submit Year End workings to Finance Manager and CFO for submission.
- Prepare documentation for auditors.
- Support the team with the introduction of a new ERP system.
- Adhoc projects and reporting.
To be successful in this role:
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Commerce (accounting preferred and due to complete within the next 6 months).
- CA/ CPA (working towards)
- +2 years experience in Transactional Accounting
- Excellent excel skills
- Related experience in retail/FMCG would be advantageous
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivator, Problem solving and High attention to detail
