Assistant Accountant
Are you ready to start your accounting career journey? RACQ Insurance is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as an Assistant Accountant.
As an Assistant Accountant, you will work closely with the Insurance Finance team as well as the Senior Financial Accountant to maintain the integrity of financial information within RACQ Insurance's general ledger. Your responsibilities will include financial reporting, insurance accounting, and general reconciliation activities. Through effective business partnering and collaboration, you will ensure that all financial transactions comply with Australian Accounting Standards and are executed with precision and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Senior Financial Accountant to execute financial control activities.
- Ensure all financial transactions are planned, timely, and accurate.
- Perform insurance accounting and general reconciliation activities.
- Maintain compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Utilise your problem-solving skills to interpret data and perform numerical calculations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Work autonomously and as part of a team to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
About you:
- Undergraduate degree in relevant accounting or finance area.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of accounting standards and principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
