Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper

• Permanent Part-Time Position, located at our Kings Park office, 22.5 to 30 hours per week (0.6 FTE to 0.8 FTE).

The position
We welcome applications to join our Finance team at Sunrise Christian School, in the position of Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper.

The Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper is responsible for a select number of finance duties, contributing to the delivery of effective and efficient financial functions across Sunrise Christian School and Sunrise Christian School Whyalla.

The Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper position is based at the Kings Park office and is accountable to the Manager Finance or delegate, whilst working closely with the Accountant and fostering positive relationships with other key stakeholders. Days of work will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Pay rate will be at the School Assistants Grade 3, Year 3 level, as outlined in our Enterprise Agreement 2022.

We are looking for committed Christians who are active in church fellowship to join our vibrant Christian community.

It is expected that applicants will:

• Be a committed Christian and in active fellowship of a local church.
• Have completed Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting, or similar discipline, or equivalent workplace experience.
• Have proven experience in an accounting related role, completing administrative tasks, with a high degree of accuracy to a high standard.
• Have experience in working as part of a team.
• Demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of accounting principles and processes.
• Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be able to prioritise, demonstrate initiative and take a proactive and flexible approach to tasks.
• Be proficient in the use of Word and Excel and other administrative computer programs.
• Possess a current Working With Children Check and a National Police Check, or be willing to obtain these, and have completed Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse & Neglect in Education & Care (RRHAN-EC) training and Protective Practices training, or be willing to complete these upon commencement.
