Outstanding opportunity for a Communications Professional with proven experience delivering major government communication campaigns to join the collaborative and supportive team of a key Federal Government Department.
As Assistant Director Campaigns, you will lead the development of high quality and innovative advertising campaigns for the department. You will apply inventive approaches to address sometimes complex and sensitive issues, demonstrating sound professional judgment. You will also liaise with and develop effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including ministerial staff.
Through the development of innovative, high-quality content, you will connect audiences with cultural policies, highlight the amazing work in the arts sector, drive audiences to Department channels for information, and engage stakeholders with purpose.
This is a non-ongoing position through to end of September 2024, with S26 transfers a possibility. Central Canberra location, with flexibility to work from home 2 days per week. Genuine potential for extension and career development. Exposure to high profile and exciting projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate integrated communication campaigns aligning with departmental objectives.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand and address strategic communication needs.
- Provide high-level communication advice verbally and in writing, creating engaging content for digital and traditional formats.
- Offer evidence-based expert communication advice, including formal briefings, in adherence to established principles and government guidelines.
- Oversee the development of communication products and content marketing, including budget management and procurement of specialist services.
- Manage external communication suppliers, interpret market research findings, and measure the performance of communication activities.
The successful candidate will have a communication degree or similar, or at least 5 years professional experience in a strategic communication, campaign team or similar. They will also demonstrate:
- A strong background in delivery of government advertising campaigns
- Proven experience in developing, implementing and evaluating integrated communication strategies
- Strategic thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent client relationship skills
- Highly level project management skills, managing multiple tasks with competing priorities
- Ability to manage and work effectively as part of a team
- Australian Citizenship and an active baseline security clearance
