The Team
The Enterprise Transformation and Portfolio Management Office (ETPMO) is part of the AEC’s National Office and sits within the Enterprise Strategy and Transformation Division as part of the Enterprise Transformation Branch. The Division is responsible for leading and supporting the AEC’s transformation and includes Indigo Program management and product design, Enterprise Transformation and investment portfolio strategy and delivery oversight, enterprise change management, and data and information management.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Transformation and Portfolio Management Office, and working alongside senior colleagues within the program, the Assistant Director, ETPMO supports the Director and Assistant Commissioner, Enterprise Transformation Branch in uniting, leading and supporting people at all levels across the AEC to achieve the AEC’s strategic and transformation objectives by:
The Assistant Director will be responsible for clearly setting out where the AEC aspires to be, how it will transform to get there, and how it will navigate its transformation journey in the AEC’s transformation strategy. This strategy unifies and supports the AEC’s targeted strategies for various elements of its business. You will maximise the contribution of the AEC’s investment to its strategic and transformation objectives by prioritising, balancing and planning an integrated portfolio of change initiatives through an investment portfolio strategy, and transformation and investment portfolio delivery plan.
This role requires you to have comprehension of the AEC investment portfolio’s planned contribution to its strategic and transformation objectives by providing oversight, assurance, and support for the successful delivery of the portfolio of initiatives to realise their planned benefits, while maximising the AEC’s ability to adapt its strategies and delivery plans based on lessons learned and the emerging opportunities and risks of its changing strategic environment by adopting both a planned and adaptive strategic approach.
To excel you’ll have:

- Proven ability to provide expert and reliable advice to Executives in written and oral formats.
- A developed strategic approach to assigned tasks and responsibilities with an ability to manage the operational outcomes of your team.
- Ability to remain positive and respond to pressure in a calm manner, while committing energy and drive to see that goals are achieved.
- Confidence and ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and negotiate with team members, business areas and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
- A demonstrated ability to work autonomously and a strong commitment to working harmoniously within a team to achieve positive results and support the AEC’s strategic direction.
