Canberra Private Hospital is a purpose-built day surgery/short stay hospital with excellent facilities, specialising in Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Plastic and cosmetic surgeries, Oral & maxillofacial, Urology, Gynaecology, ENT and IVF
Our hospital includes 4 fully integrated operating theatres, stage 1 and stage 2 recovery areas and a 37 overnight beds across two wards which include 4 close observation beds.
On-site we have Inpatient and day rehabilitation services which includes:
- an onsite gymnasium
- Diagnostic services, including pathology and radiology
These services are supported by an in-house comprehensive allied health service team.

About the Role:Reporting to the General Manager / Director of Nursing, you will assist in leading the continuous development of our hospital team and will ensure high standards of clinical supervision, governance and safety. Imperative to your success in this role will be delivering exceptional clinical outcomes.
- Deliver strategic & operational plans while collaborating with other Nexus Hospital Leaders
- Operational, commercial and financial management of the hospital
- Manage workforce planning of employees while building positive relationships with Visiting Medical Officers
- Maintain compliance through regular audits and adherence to NSQHS and DIAS standards
- Ensure the safety of our patients and promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence across all areas of the hospital
You have a genuine passion for nursing and leading people, providing world-class patient care and adding value to Australian healthcare. You will be an energetic leader with the following skills:
- Solid experience in a comparable role or Nursing Unit Manager
- Tertiary qualifications in Nursing or similar
- A background in Perioperative nursing
- Working knowledge of NSQHS Standards
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Registration with AHPRA
