Moruya Public School has a proud and long tradition for over 140 years of public education in the Eurobodalla. The site was a central school until the high school was built in 1970. In addition to its historical significance Moruya Public School promotes high academic achievement and inclusive educational and well-being practices. Students are offered a comprehensive education that includes strong creative and citizenship building opportunities. We establish high expectations for our students and offer them the opportunity, encouragement and support required to lay the foundation for learning for life. Teachers plan, program and deliver curriculum with a focus on implementing evidence informed practices to support student growth and achievement in all subject areas with a focus on literacy and numeracy. The school is proud of its excellent reputation for the quality and safety of this learning environment. It is an inclusive Public School of some 325 students and 30 members of staff. The school has 67 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, four special education classes for students with additional and complex learning needs in both mainstream and support classrooms. The school promotes academic excellence for talented students and extra-curricular activities in sport and the performing arts.
Selection Criteria

Outstanding classroom practice and the ability to lead the implementation of high quality, innovative literacy and numeracy programs based on student data, expert curriculum knowledge, research and evidence-based practices.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to strategically plan, lead and monitor initiatives, and apply evaluative practices to support the Strategic Improvement Plan.
Demonstrated ability to build teacher capacity to interpret and use data/evidence of learning to track impact and effectively evaluate programs and practices, leading to improved student outcomes.
- An approachable leader with a demonstrated commitment to enhancing positive wellbeing through addressing the social, emotional, and cultural needs of both students and staff, showcasing a proven ability to foster a positive, inclusive whole school community.
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
