About the role
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Support Manager to lead a team of staff delivering Support Independent Living services in Tweed Heads NSW.
This role would suit a person with leadership and direct support experience who is well equipped in taking responsibility for ensuring the coordination and operationalisation of service including:
- staff rostering
- organising and directing household routines in line with agreed support plans and client expectations
- leading a culture of staff learning and competency development
- develop strong relationships with a diverse stakeholder group, including informal supports, appointed guardians, allied health professionals and fellow implementing providers
- ensuring support and engagement enriches the lives and opportunities for clients

Qualifications & experience
- Preferred Certificate 3 in Individual Support
- Experience implementing, monitoring and reporting restrictive practices
- Preferred experience supporting vulnerable people with a disability or mental health concerns either in a paid, voluntary or lived experienced capacity
Tasks & Responsibilities
- monitor and oversee the implementation, follow-up and progress of clients’, acting as lead liaison person, advocate and co-ordinator for people’s engagement in skill development and quality of life activities
- actively lead staff inclusive of their rostering, development, training and engagement – acting as a role model and providing hands-on mentoring and responding to issues,
- undertake contract and operational management including reporting, analysis and compliance,
- assist in financial management including billing and debtor management,
- be effective in building meaningful partnerships and relationships in the local area to meet, actively engaging with stakeholders to maximise the responsiveness of our business and service to the evolving needs of the community - with knowledge of local programs, referral processes and resources available to support clients
- understand cultural competency and have a commitment to cultural statement and principles
- oversee and facilitate household maintenance and procedure including vehicle, equipment, utilities and asset safety, cleanliness, décor, preventative and emergency responses
- maintain accountability for all required reporting to Support Coordinators, families, Public Trustee and Guardian and the NDIA.
