The Islamic College of Brisbane (ICB) is a rapidly growing school of more than 160 staff and facilities for students from Prep to Year 12 with approximately 1500 students. The community-centred College, which was established in 1995 in response to parent demand for a local faith-based school, is located on the southern outskirts of Brisbane in the suburb of Karawatha, about 20km south-east of the Brisbane CBD.

Position Title: School Bookkeeper
Reports to: Head of Finance & Operations

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The School Bookkeeper will be required to exercise his/her professional skills and judgement to carry out, in a collaborative manner, the professional duties set out below: -
Account Reconciliation Support
- Reconciling the bank statement transactions of all the bank accounts on daily basis.
- Assist on monthly transactional reporting and general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist on maintaining the financial data entry to report delivering up-to-date financial information.
- Compilation and submission of Business Activity Statement (BAS).
- Liaise with the college’s financial auditors with respect to the college annual financial statements and any other audit functions as required from time to time.
- Ensure deadlines and targets are met. Prepare the accounts of the college to operating statement stage and assist in the formulating of period and year end entries.
Data Entry & Financial Report Support
- Provide support to CEO and Head of Finance & Operations on financial report related.
- Ensure the finance section in TASS system is maintained to provide accurate and timely report.
- Assist on compilation and prepare documentation of annual Workcover insurance renewal.
- Assist on compilation and prepare documentation of annual College insurance renewal.
- Team Support includes Account Receivable and Account Payable related
Qualification and Essential Criteria required:
- QLD Blue Card Registration
- A Certificate IV Financial service in bookkeeping or accounting from a registered training organisation or an equivalent institution.
- The Alpha School System (TASS) knowledge advantageous.
- Strong Excel skills with ability to manage excel spreadsheets and use intermediate level formulas.
- Previous experience as Bookkeeper. It is desirable for school or education sector experience.
- Execute tasks accurately with thorough process and great attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple task and able to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
