Bookkeeper

Boss Private Clients is a boutique accounting and advisory practice based in Melbourne's CBD. You will join a team of accounting professionals which have over 25 years of experience in the accounting profession, in acting for private clients.

About the Role

This role is a hands-on position providing bookkeeping services to our clients. The role will offer client contact and various client related responsibilities as well as the challenges of working on a diverse client base.

Candidate key duties and responsibilities will include the following:

• Preparation of annual financial statements for clients up to trial balance stage including the preparation of certain working papers on behalf of the accountant involved.
• Assistance with the preparation of management reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Processing of transactions through client cloud based accounting system (whether that be accounting system or relevant add on)
• Banking and electronic payments, bank reconciliations within the timeframes required by the client or the accounting team
• Maintaining accounting documentation on a transactional basis
• Payroll processing on a regular basis
• Contractor invoice preparation
• Preparation of BAS Returns
• Register, calculate, lodge and pay all related indirect tax payments (payroll tax, workcover, superannuation guarantee)
• Monitor the compliance requirements performance of various clients.

The successful applicant must possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to embrace Accounting system technology in an ever changing environment
• Process good computer literacy in the Microsoft office Suite, Myob, Xero and other accounting / bookkeeping packages
• Demonstrate effective problem solving skills and be highly service oriented
• Be self-motivated, honest, compliant and trustworthy
• Engage in your client list with assistance from senior staff members
• Must be flexible and able to problem solve
