Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting asset data readiness activities, process mapping and improvement, as well as stakeholder mapping and engagement.
In this role you will be working with the Project executive, project resources, Executive Manager, ICT Governance and Portfolio Management and relevant stakeholders.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting asset data readiness activities, process mapping and improvement, as well as stakeholder mapping and engagement.
The department is undertaking a business case development process and data readiness for an Enterprise Asset Management solution. This solution is intended to support the Department to manage its extensive asset base such as fleet, buildings, plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Development of data specifications, data collection and remediation plans.
- Identification of process improvement opportunities to assist with asset data readiness activities, and to ensure currency of data collected.
- Assist with the requirements, identification, selection for the data capture toolset.
- Facilitation and monitoring of field and system collection processes within the selected toolset.
- Undertake stakeholder engagement, assessment and the development of a stakeholder matrix, and ongoing stakeholder management.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships by communicating, consulting, and negotiating with clients and other key stakeholders to ensure the achievement of your project's outcomes.
- Proactively promote an effective working culture by capturing and sharing knowledge and supporting common expectations.
- Establish and maintain strong and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders including cross-agency representatives, consultants, and contractors, to ensure project success.
- At least 5 years Business Analyst, or equivalent roles working with complex ICT systems and stakeholders, preferably within a government organization.
- Experience working with and/or implementing Asset Management solutions.
- Understanding of Asset Management frameworks and the importance the framework plays in defining the solution.
- Prior experience in the preparation of data specifications for at least one of the following asset classes: Fleet, Buildings, Plant and Equipment.
- Deep understanding of the data managed within Asset Management solutions including asset master and reference data, maintenance schedules, standard jobs, etc.
- Understanding of finance and supply chain systems and their relationship with Asset Management.
- Prior experience in the collection, creation and cleansing of asset master data required for solution implementation.
- Experience in data manipulation using common tools, such as Excel, SQL Studio and PowerBI.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and management skills with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to consult, negotiate and influence a broad cross-section of stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Strong ability to converse with both end-users and IT employees at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience in development of project artifacts and documents, such as, but not limited to; business requirements specifications, data specifications; technical specifications, test cases.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of quality processes, products and services, as identified through facilitating review, product analysis, client survey analysis and other research and benchmarking activities, which help establish requirements for the implementation of changes.
