Overview:
This pivotal role requires an energetic and self-motivated Business Development Manager who has a passion for fine wine!. An in-depth understanding of the wine industry would be desirable, however, strong Business Development experience in a similar field will also be a great fit for the role.
Their role is to achieve the business objectives and agreed sales budget, whilst understanding and embracing the strategic imperatives in their day-to-day business. The core focus in respect of this position is to substantially grow distribution and sales across the portfolio in Australia as directed by the Sales Director.
Responsibilities:
This role primarily focuses on new Business Development, accounting for approximately 90% of responsibilities. However, once new clients are acquired, there will be opportunities to transition into account management. For individuals not inclined towards account management, and who successfully onboard enough clients, there is the option to delegate account management responsibilities to an allocated account manager.
- Achieve mutually agreed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets set by the Sales Director.
- Identify and achieve mutually agreed points of distribution for their wines, with a focus on visibility and placement.
- Maintain, develop and grow distribution points in all outlets in order to expand their business opportunities.
- Consistently and passionately communicate the business's attributes, positioning, and philosophy to all customers, peers, influencers, trade, and media.
- Work collaboratively with the Sales Director to help roll-out listings and build sales within key accounts.
- Manage and attend events, tastings, to ensure brand consistency and excellence of delivery.
- Event day preparation and delivery.
- 3 + years of new Business Development experience
- Previous experience selling wine or a passion for wine
- Proven track record of prospecting and closing deals
- Results-driven mindset with excellent communication abilities
