Business Development Manager - Civil and Construction
About the business and the role
AWS Services is an Australia wide company specialising in construction and remedial services for local government and designated clients. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Business Development Manager to join our team in Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
- You will be expected to reach out and create relationships within the civil and construction industry and then use that platform to promote our services.
- You will need to identify new markets that AWS can engage and become prominent in.
- Specifying works to be undertaken and relaying that information to project managers/technicians.
- Reviewing plans, attending site inspections, and compiling take-offs and costings for projects of varying sizes and complexities.
- Experience developing and constructing or civil methodologies.
- Assistance with costing of variations during project delivery.
- Consult with clients, vendors, designers, and other stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates.
- Identify cost trends to assist management.
- Handover to construction team on successful tenders/estimates.
- Identifying new business opportunities, meeting with potential new clients, new partnerships or new products and services.
- Creating strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities.
- Building relationships with new clients, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address these needs.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with current clients.
- Pitching sales to new and existing clients.
- Attending conferences and events to build relationships with industry partners and staying up to date with new trends.
- Creating sales forecasts and actively working towards reaching them.
- Possessing a strong understanding of the company’s services, the competition in the industry and positioning.
Skills & Experience Needed
- Proven success in B2B sales
- Experience in construction or civil industries is crucial or at least an understanding our industry
- Self-sufficient, able to maintain your own schedule
- Be able to effectively promote and negotiate to meet a monthly target
- Ability to work within a highly charged environment that is consistently changing
- Able to handle deadlines and timelines and work with our estimators and Project management team in order to achieve targets
- Ability to understand client needs and react swiftly to their reactive needs.
